World Maths Day
Today was World Maths Day. We linked in some PE with our maths activities. We used trundle wheels to measure a lap of the pitch then ran our fastest lap. We timed this so we could calculate our speed as well as our class average. We also used conversions in measuring both distance (mm, cm, m and km) and time (sec to min and sec).
After our running we started our next PE topic of golf. We learned how to set up to swing and the different parts of the golf club. After some practice we had 4 shots each and measured our longest and shortest shots to find the range. Then we had 3 more shots each and took note of which points area we landed in. This information was used to create a frequency table and find the mode and median. Finally we put the data from the table into a graph.
